Scotland County has a long history of support for education.  The community itself prospered in the late 1700’s around the school that provided high quality education for this region of the county.  That commitment to high quality education continues today as Scotland County Schools are among the top performing schools in the state. 

The Laurinburg/ Scotland County area takes a great deal of pride in the schools and that pride is evident in the community partnerships that have been established.  Local business, industry and churches adopt schools from across the county and provide support in a number of ways. 

Business partners can provide volunteers, school supplies for needy children, teacher support and apprenticeship opportunities for our schools.  Scotland County Schools currently have over 70 business partners with more being added each year.  For additional information please contact the Community Schools office.
