Finance Department
Our Mission is to provide effective and efficient management of the financial resources of Scotland County Schools, ensure timely and accurate presentation of financial records, and strive toward continuous improvement in all services provided.
Welcome to our website. The Finance Department is responsible
for financial functions and reporting for the school system. This includes
budget preparation and revision; processing of purchase orders and
payment of invoices; payroll processing and reporting; cash receipts;
investment of funds; reporting and compliance with Federal, State and
Local regulations; risk management; and monitoring funds of individual
schools.
The budget for
Scotland County Schools exceeds $60 million a year. The Finance
Department processes over 6,000 purchase orders and writes in excess
of 20,000 payroll and 10,000 accounts payable checks each year.
