    • Learn Creative and thoughtful strategies for using electronic resources in the classroom.
    • Increase your own productivity with technology tools and methods for using them effectively.
    • Invigorate your teaching and improve your ability to meet the needs of your students.

    ALSO approved in North Carolina with possible future offerings in Scotland County are the following:

  • M.Ed. in Elementary Education: Profession and Practice
    • This program is designed for in-service elementary education teachers (grades 1-6) who wish to strengthen their subject matter, research, and pedagogical knowledge and expertise. Teachers entering the program should have an initial or full teaching license from their respective states, be teaching currently, and have at least one full year of classroom experience, as readings, activities and assessments make continual use of the in-service teachers' experiential knowledge and are designed to enhance their active professional development. The program outcomes are derived from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. After completing this program some teachers may wish to begin the process for NBPTS certification.
  • Integrated Teaching Through the Arts (C & I), M.Ed.
    • This program enhances the individual creativity of teachers and serves as advanced training for educators who wish to integrate the arts into the school curriculum. The arts enliven learning, and when students are engaged in learning, they understand the subject matter more thoroughly.
  • M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Literacy: Language, Reading, and Writing
    • The Curriculum and Instruction program is designed to address the needs of experienced educators who wish to enhance and expand their current knowledge and skills. The Literacy: Language, Reading, and Writing specialization provides educators with a foundation in literacy learning and its application across different populations and content areas. Lesley has long enjoyed a highly acclaimed reputation in the area of literacy; the program of study reflects Lesley's strength in the integration of reading and writing in literacy courses and the variety of approaches the faculty bring to their teaching.
