Scotland County Schools supports National Board Certification!

Anyone interested in becoming a candidate for National Board Certification, or would like information about the Scotland County Schools NBC Candidate Support Program, please contact Alicia Tate, National Board Candidate Support Coordinator. atate@scsnc.org

Scotland County School’s Candidate Support for 2005 – 2006 cycle:

1. Application assistance throughout Spring, Summer and Fall

Ø Pre-candidacy information meeting

Ø “Before the box” workshops on NB standards, writing, videotaping, etc

Ø Monthly group candidate support meetings

Ø Monthly small group/individual mentoring with trained NBCT

Ø National Board Working Weekends

Ø NBC newsletter for those participating in support group

Ø Resource notebook

Ø Access to copier

Ø Reimburse cost of mailing the “box”

Ø Address unique needs of advanced candidates

Ø Additional resources and video camera available on check-out basis
