Unassociated Deadlines
Gardner-Webb University Fellows Scholarship is now available. You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher at a least an 1130. Please check with your counselor if you are planning to attend GWU and wish to be nominated for this award.
Benjamin N. Duke Scholarship - Attention seniors: If you are interested in attended Duke University and are accepted, you are automatically considered for this award. You must apply for the scholarship. The application is available at www.bnduke.org
Hugh O'Brian Leadership Seminar - 10th Grade students can apply for the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar. You must
use the
HOBY online registration system at www.hobync.org
Levine Scholars Program at UNC Charlotte - This program is a four year scholarship that includes full tuition, room and board, and a
brand new
laptop computer. The program includes four summers of experience, including and international experience. If you are

Essay Contest - Attention all students! 2009-2010 Essay contest. You must write 350 words or less on “What Memorial Day Means to Me.” The grand prize is a 10,000 savings bond, plus 18 national awards and regional and local prizes. Please visit www.fra.org/essay. Clemson University - Attention 9th and 10th grade students: Clemson University is offering a C-CATS (Clemson’s Challenge for Academically Talented Students) program designed specifically for you. You must be ranked in the top 10 percent of your class and your academic record must predict a 1300 on the SAT. See your counselor to see if you are eligible. Deadline is 12/12/2009.
January Deadlines
Navy ROTC Scholarship - Navy ROTC scholarship is now available. This is a four year scholarship worth up to $180,000 and your choice of
bachelor's degree majors. Apply online at https://www.nrotc.navy.mil. See Dr. Powell for paper copies of the application. You must apply
before January 2010.
UNC-Greensboro Merit Awards - Interested in UNC-Greensboro? The Merit Awards Program at UNC-G offers high school seniors the
Opportunity to apply for prestigious academic scholarships. Scholars are selected primarily on the basis of exceptional academic
achievement and potential. Special awards are offered in the areas of Business, Education, and the Arts & Sciences. Application for these
awards can be completed online at www.uncg.edu/fia/meritawards, or you may download a copy, complete and submit by mail. Deadline for
the application is 1/4/10.
Gates Millennium Scholarship - Attention all seniors: The Gates Millennium Scholarship is now available. More information and application material can be found at www.gmsp.org. The application deadline is 1/11/2010.
Washington Crossing Foundation - Interested in history, politics, government, or military service, national scholarships are available for seniors. Please visit www.gwcf.org. Monetary awards from $1000 to $7500. Please submit applications by 1/15/2010.
NC School of Science & Math - Attention all sophomores: The NC School of Science and Math is now accepting applications for the 2010 summer residential program. All applications are to be submitted online at www.ncssm.org. The application deadline is January 15, 2010.
NC State University - The Pulp and Paper Foundation at N.C. State is now offering a scholarship to those seniors interested in applying to the Paper and Science Engineering Program. The application deadline is January 31, 2010.
