EST School Ready to use Elluminate Live

Scotland High School of Engineering and Skilled Trades is in position to begin using a new tool, Elluminate Live! for academic collaboration and distance education. This product claims "No User Left Behind" funtionality because a computer's platform or Internet connection speed does not affect a user's ability to communicate with others or perform specific tasks. EST is in good company by choosing to use this product. Duke University has chosen to use this format for distance education because it "enhances the online experience of its remote students." In addition, Duke chose this tool based on its versatility, stating "It's an ever-evolving world of digital media. So what is important to us is not just what a product does now, but what it will be capable of in the future."

EST Student chosen as a LeTendre Scholar

Stephanie Emanuel, a student in Scotland High School of Engineering and Skilled Trades, was selected as a 2006 LeTendre Education Fund Scholar!  The LeTendre Education Fund is a national program that provides scholarship assistance to exceptional students to help defray the cost of any college related expenses.

In addition to being awarded this private scholarship, Emanuel was awarded an all-expense paid trip to the National Award Ceremony, which took place in Little Rock, AR from Saturday, November 11, 2006 - Monday, November 13, 2006. The award ceremony provided an excellent opportunity for these outstanding students to receive the recognition and praise they so deserve, to meet other scholars from across the country, and to travel to a new place

SHSEST is so pleased that Stephanie Emanuel has received this award.
