Welcome!

A fundamental renewal of public education is taking place. This renewal requires that communities, schools, educators, parents, and students question tried-and-true traditions appropriate in a bygone century and build new traditions that prepare young adults for the century they will inhabit. The renewal demands a systamatic change, a bias for action, and a dedication to each student.

I believe that the success of each student defines the success of the Scotland High School of Visual and Performing Arts.

The VAPA faculty and staff strive for excellence everyday by providing academic rigor that engages each student, by maintaining student relations that foster individual success, and, by sharing relevant knowledge that prepares each graduate for enriched life-long learning.

I encourage students to fully participate and to excel in the many diverse learning opportunities provided within the School of Visual and Performing Arts. Everyone within VAPA is committed to student success and looks forward to building an exemplary school that nurtures young adults.
