The Symphonic Band has a long tradition of excellence. They have performed at the North Carolina State Music Conference twice and currently hold the longest strain of Superior ratings at the SEBDA District Festival of any ensemble playing Grade VI music. Composed of our most advanced players, Symphonic Band plays very challenging and demanding music, often stretching the students' musical technique and aural skills. In Symphonic Band, students are required to prepare more challenging music in less time and are expected to practice on a daily basis at home. The band performs a Winter Concert, a Spring Concert, and a Festival Concert (in March). Recently, the Symphonic Band traveled to Washington DC to compete in a nationwide music festival. They placed third place in their class.
