Scotland County Schools
Scotland County Schools believes that our students are an investment in the future of our community, state and nation and we have followed this belief as we look to provide our students with the best opportunities for success in our global economy and society.
To provide these opportunities, we have implemented an innovative redesign of Scotland High School to better prepare our students for whatever is next for them – be it enrollment in a two- or four-year college or technical school or entrance into the workforce. Currently Scotland High School is participating in the New Schools Project, and has undergone a total school conversion. Small Learning Communities including Schools of Health Sciences, Math, Science & Technology, Leadership & Public Service, Business, Finance & Marketing, Visual & Performing Arts and a Ninth Grade Academy are now operational allowing teachers to provide more relevant and rigorous instruction in an atmosphere more conducive to the building of relationships.
Additionally, Scotland County Schools has made a commitment to provide our students with the most “future-ready” learning environment available. To this end, with the help of The Golden Leaf Foundation, the system has allocated resources to provide classrooms with the latest in instructional technology and to provide our teachers with the training necessary to best implement new instructional practices that utilize the available technology.
With a focus on clear priorities, a constancy of purpose, long-term commitment of all of our faculty and staff and a dedicated leadership team, our school system will continue to flourish and improve in meeting our goal of producing citizens with the skills to be successful in the 21st Century.
